JAMES TIERNEY

James Tierney is a senior associate at Petroff Amshen LLP, concentrating his practice on foreclosure defense. Possessing extensive experience in civil litigation matters, Mr. Tierney adeptly handles cases from the initial filing of a summons and complaint through the appellate process. Before joining Petroff Amshen LLP, he honed his skills at one of New York’s largest law firms, later committing himself to assisting homeowners facing foreclosure. Mr. Tierney’s dedication to the community is evident through his past volunteer work with the Suffolk County Bar Association Pro Bono Foreclosure Settlement Project. 

Education: 

James Tierney earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Saint Joseph’s College and his Juris Doctor from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. While attending law school, he demonstrated his exceptional legal acumen as a member of the Touro Law Review. His insightful analysis of Huntington, New York’s sex offender policy and the intrastate right to travel was published in the Spring 2010 edition of the Touro Law Review (26 Touro L. Rev. 145).
