Medea Matiashvili is an associate with Petroff Amshen LLP, where she focuses on foreclosure defense and bankruptcy. Ms. Matiashvili has comprehensive experience in human rights and international development. Prior to joining Petroff Amshen LLP, Ms. Matiashvili worked for the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative dedicating herself to promoting justice, equality, and human rights through criminal justice and rule of law programs. In addition, Ms. Matiashvili was an adjunct lecturer at Tbilisi State University, Caucasus School of Law, and a trainer at the Georgian Bar Association.
Ms. Matiashvili received an M.A. from Tbilisi State University and an LL.M. degree from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University. While in law school she was a member of the Human Rights & Atrocity Prevention Clinic where she worked on an indigenous land rights project – Strategic Advocacy and Mediation in Social – Environmental Conflicts in Brazil.
